Not much in this world is as good as Sonic Mania, but being balls deep in a concrete wall with sponges on the inside is pretty nice too. I have faith the team know what they're doing.This game not only one of the greatest 2D platformers ever made, but it is the greatest 2D platformer ever made. So chin up, there's still the potential for a wealth of new exciting content, which is what makes the "drip-feed" approach all the more interesting. ![]() It may get to the point where they hardly resemble anything we've seen thus far. But imagine how the new acts of other stages might play out. ![]() Act 2, while already quite different from act 1, borrows a couple of things from the act 3 layout, and still has much of the Green Hill aesthetic and design to it. That might be what they mean when they said Green Hill would be the most tame remix. I'm pretty sure the idea is to establish an expectation for the act 1 stage, then turn that expectation on it s head with the act 2 stages. And of course you're forgetting the second acts of the remixed stages. The idea of reusing stages and content is an easy way for them to make a game of reasonable length as well as produce a spin on some old stuff. This is an indie dev team developing what is essentially a game that is meant to have content well beyond the reaches of what most indie developers are capable of. You also have to consider the circumstances. Some things could be tweaked and touched up here and there, and there's plenty of content that could look quite a touch different from what we see.
